Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum requirement in fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
• Advanced Degrees: Master’s or Ph.D. are frequently required or preferred for specialized positions.
• Alternative Paths: Bootcamps, online courses, and professional certifications can supplement or substitute for formal education.

Technical Skills

• Programming Languages: Deep knowledge of Python is the most common requirement, followed by R, Java, C/C++, or Perl.
• Database Management: Strong SQL skills for querying and managing large datasets.
• Machine Learning/AI: Experience with algorithms, predictive modeling, and frameworks like Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Data Analysis & Visualization: Ability to use tools like Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and advanced statistical modeling.
• Big Data Tools: Familiarity with Hadoop and Spark is often required for large-scale data processing.

Soft Skills and Experience

• Analytical & Critical Thinking: Ability to structure problems and analyze complex, unstructured data.
• Communication: Clearly presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Business Acumen: Understanding of how data insights can address business needs.
• Experience: Often requires 2+ years of experience, sometimes up to 7+ for senior roles, or previous experience in data analyst/engineering roles.

Competencies

• We are looking for a builder who combines technical precision with a collaborative mindset.
• The Must-Haves:
• Delivery Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Cloud Engineering or DevOps, with a strong preference for backgrounds in Consulting, Professional Services, or System Integration (SI) where you delivered projects for external customers.
• GCP Specialization: You aren't just learning the cloud; you are building on it daily. You have deep expertise in Core Infrastructure (Compute, VPC, IAM) and Managed Services (GKE, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run).
• IaC Proficiency: You speak Terraform fluently. You can write modules from scratch, manage remote state, and understand how to structure code for enterprise-grade scale.
• DevOps Tooling: Experience building CI/CD pipelines from the ground up. You understand how to containerize applications (Docker) and orchestrate them (Kubernetes/Helm).
• Adaptability: You can jump into a client’s existing (and sometimes messy) environment, assess the situation quickly, and begin contributing value without needing hand-holding.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Certifications: Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect.
• Hybrid/Multi-Cloud: Experience helping clients migrate from on-premise data centers (VMware) or AWS/Azure into GCP.
• Scripting: Proficiency in Python or Go for writing custom automation scripts when out-of-the-box tools aren't enough.
